A collaboration between West London producer FunkinEven and Detroit prodigy Jay Daniel that sees the two mining their shared interest in off-kilter percussive house. FunkinEven’s occasional radio show for NTS revealed his love for funk, soul and boogie (among other sounds) and it’s those influences that manifest themselves in the deep groove of his own productions. On the A side, ‘Discipline’, stabs of synth and skittish snares play out over a funky squelching bassline. While ‘Abyss’ takes a sparser and spacey approach to house with its echoing MIDI chords.
