From Gui Boratto’s newly minted D.O.C. imprint comes the full-length debut from Brazilian production duo Elekfantz. Members Leo Piovezani and Daniel Kuhnen specialise in lushly produced house variations, excelling in a number of different floor-friendly modes. They craft out funk-tinged pop on single ‘Diggin’ On You’ and ‘So Damn Classy’, emotive electronica on ‘The Quiet Before The Storm’, Hot Chip-esque vocal house on ‘Cryptographic Love’ and brooding electro on ‘Surrender’ and ‘Why So Bad’. On ‘Pharoah’s Dance’, they even knock out a straight-faced, Detroit style house cut, complete with piano stabs and soulful keys.
