Four years after the first compilation, former Detroit record shop owner Rick Wilhite curates the second episode of his 'Vibes New & Rare Music' collection for Amsterdam’s Rush Hour. Named after his shop that is now closed, Wilhite put together 15 tracks by artists from Detroit, Chicago and New York that correspond to its celebrated soulful vibe. This first part of the vinyl edition contains seven of the songs. Jovonn’s sunny loop in 'Ruff' juxtaposes Sean Tate’s trippy 'A Matter Of Pain'. Motown-star Josh Milan of Blaze and Chicago’s pioneer K-Alexi make their colourful appearances alongside rarer artists like Jon Easley whose chilled out, bulbous beats are just as exciting.
