Andy Votel’s ever-brilliant Finders Keepers imprint further delve into the unreleased catalogue of Polish composer Andrzej Korzy?sk, presenting his score for the 1977 film ‘Man of Marble’ in a lush repress. There’s such a wealth of material in evidence that it’s hard to know where to begin, but listeners will undoubtedly delight in the spooky string lines of ‘In the Shipyard’ and ‘The Port', which are buoyed up by funky Fender Rhodes jabs and recall Miles Davis’ ‘Bitches Brew’ as much as lush orchestral music. Elsewhere the full-on disco funk of ‘Man Of Marble (Baby Bump)’ and ‘The Katowice Ironworks’ shows another side to this surprising and intriguing composer.
