Gerry Read brings two new bumping tech-house cuts to Aus Music backed by two excellent Redshape remixes. ‘Shrubby’ has an endearing roughness to its percussion and synth production, with swelling house chords given an unusually powerful sense of momentum through their grainy quality, though its bass still bites hard. ‘Zig Zag’ is more immediate, with whooping vocals occasionally piercing heavily distorted synth stabs and filigree drum attacks. On two remixes of ‘Shrubby’, Redshape first renders the original glitched and unstable, and then reconstructs it into a disco number, with robotic vocals bringing a carefully-judged camp into the mix
