US electro DJ Danny Daze seems to have absorbed some of his adoptive hometown Berlin’s techno intricacies, and has turned them into a storming three-track EP for Jimmy Edgar’s Ultramajic label. The title track hits with a swirling, airhorn-heavy mix of house and techno, sampled voices howling in the background, the bass twisted up like a voodoo incantation. On the flip-side, ‘When The Freaks Come Out’ chops up Linn kickdrums with spooky choral noises, while ‘Beatdown’ brings in Jason Torres (aka Translucent) for an upbeat industrial club-filler. Expect this one to be a warehouse staple, one that’ll raise the roof faster than a barrel of dynamite.
