Jimmy Edgar’s Ultramajic label put forward a strong new single from Aden, backed by a remix from the label boss himself. ‘Whip’ is a sultry techno number, with classic flanging synths and crisp understated drums providing a solid foundation for an incessant footwork vocal which adds a real bite to the otherwise luxurious production. Jimmy Edgar’s remix is more brazen, with the vocals more present and constantly reconfigured into different patterns against slamming 808 claps, completing an excellent pair of individual takes on a well-trodden path.
