Hugely talented Icelandic composer and conductor Daniel Bjarnason provides a compelling third album ‘Over Light Earth’ on respected imprint Bedroom Community. Here, Bjarnason’s discerning works are split into three with the title piece drawing inspiration from The New York School of painters such as Mark Rothko and Jackson Pollock. 'Emergence' constitutes three pieces of densely layered, intensified sound often relaxing but carrying an air of unpredictability. Finally, the five parts of 'Solitudes' act as Bjarnason’s first piano concerto and have been tastefully reworked to include electronics by Valgeir Sigurdsson and Ben Frost.
