After EPs in 2017/18, DMX Krew drops his first full length for Byrd Out, merging Detroit styled techno and electro with uplifting, smooth and slick synth funk grooves. Funky acid stabs and oldschool hip hop sirens bounce through the metropolitan adventure of ‘A New Story’, introducing an album focussed on the poppy, sweet, and playful sides of dance music (though four to the floors still abound with explorative melodies). ‘It's Tomorrow’ is a prime example, its continual stomp making room for fizzing, fluttering synth lines, while Break Mode's ‘Unlikely Seeming’ remix adds dub and garage flavours to hypnotic electronica.
