NTS host, OTIH Records label head, and Aphex Twin aficionado (check his Bleep Mix #281) Raji Rags continues to metamorphosise his career with his debut EP Congratulations. From spacious club cuts to delicate ambience, collaboration glues these tracks together: Speakers Corner Quartet members Raven Bush and Peter Bennie add nimble strings soaring over patient bass plucks, while Sonia Calico amplifies ‘Bullet Train’ with fluid drumming layered into subtle yet storming grooves. Elsewhere, glitchy details flit between chunky boom bap-esque drums, while micro breaks spit forcefully over iridescent synth palettes, displaying rhythmic variety that makes for an exciting debut.
