Ahead of the first night of her SHERELLELAND UK and EU tour, electronic producer and DJ SHERELLE today drops her new single, ‘Henry’s Revenge’, out now via Hooversound Recordings.

Her first release in nearly two years, ‘Henry’s Revenge sees SHERELLE return with a refreshed and revived energy after a challenging 2023. SHERELLE explains: “Last year I was working on an album and essentially lost my music through being mugged on a train, but it felt like a fresh start. I didn’t pick up my laptop or go anywhere near my computer to make music for a long time because I wasn't in the head space to do so, by the time I was able to this year, I felt so relieved making it.”

Despite the hardships of last year, SHERELLE was set on making the best out of the setbacks, she expands, “‘Henry’s Revenge’ feels like how I felt in August and September, there’s a lot of frustration and a lot of anger. Being angry and frustrated is tricky to navigate because you’ve got two ways of using that energy, you can either go down a dark path or you can try and use that energy for good. Being able to channel that energy into songwriting and making it as explosive as this tune is has been a really beautiful thing. I’m so happy and proud of myself to be able to get to a point where we are making music again and we’re making music that I really enjoy that reflects me and my sound.”

Tomorrow, SHERELLE sets out on her SHERELLELAND UK & EU tour, another example of making something positive out of the negative. The tour sees SHERELLE team with independent venues and promoters to bring the sounds of jungle, drum & bass and footwork to stages across the UK and Europe, delivering electrifying sets for ‘bocats on a budget’, beginning at London’s Carpet Shop, the tour takes her to Amsterdam, Leeds, Manchester and Edinburgh, before coming to a close at Paris’ Hasard Ludique on 24th February.

Says SHERELLE: “Everything has gotten super expensive, which really concerns me so I really wanted to do a tour with cheap tickets for my fellow bocats on a budget. SHERELLELAND stems from an idea I had whilst travelling and DJing last year. When I should have been focusing on my blends, I was actually observing everyone in the room and I think following COVID and rising costs is making it harder to go out. So collectively as a community we need to band together.

“I always want to do something that makes me super happy, and since I didn’t have a nice year last year due to personal issues, I really want to make sure I start 2024 in a really nice, positive, and gorgeous way. I feel that SHERELLELAND is essentially the epitome of this. I don’t want people to just buy a ticket, come to the rave, and then go home - I want to give them shit. They can walk away with something feeling like they had an actual experience." - Sherelle
