Grant Singer’s feature film debut is a crime thriller evoking “a multifaceted sense of deception”, so who better to orchestrate that feeling than composer Yair Elazar Glotman and multidimensional artist Arca. Febrile string sweeps, throbbing bass eruptions, and Arca’s choral presence levitate through each track; even moments of rest are filled with breath holding tension, whether it's a lurking bassline or a harmony turning dissonant at the last moment. Delicate vocal arrangements mist the glass of ‘Why We Had to Leave’, wafting over ominous, expectant piano and strings. Meanwhile, ‘White Fish’ concludes with erratic swipes and shards, lifting warped electronics from Arca’s @@@@@ project subsumed by apocalyptic rushes of rhythm and air.
