Ash Ra Tempel’s 1971 eponymous debut LP is considered by many to be something like the Krautrock Big Bang. A beguiling combination of psychedelic rock and pioneering electronic production techniques, Ash Ra’s music set in motion an underground movement whose influence is still felt today some 50 years on. In honour of that half century milestone, MG.ART has recut and repressed the album with assistance from the Tempel’s own Manuel Göttsching. The album’s two movements still sound beamed in from another planet after all these years.
