Austin, Texas post-rock torchbearers Explosions In The Sky return to the Temporary Residence Ltd. label for their seventh LP entitled End. That title is something of a misnomer as the band has no intentions of stopping as they see an ending as merely the beginning of something new. Squaring off the tasteful economy of their early work, the dynamic emotional bloodletting of their mid-to-late period, and the vivid scope of their scoring work for television and film, tracks like ‘Moving On’ and ‘All Mountains’ feel like culmination of the band’s steady progression, or a review of everywhere they’ve been thus far. Wherever Explosions In The Sky go next may very well be beyond our perception.
