Seasoned producer The Maghreban has had quite an interesting career. With releases spanning genres from techno to jungle and back, the man has been putting out banger records since the mid 90s on labels like Versatile, Black Acre, and R&S, while somehow retaining a fairly low profile. He returns to his own Zoot Records to stretch out even further for his sophomore full-length LP entitled Connection. Created alongside saxophonist Idris Rahman, Connection folds in jazz (on tracks like ‘Celebratory Relapse’) and Eastern-tinged music (‘Got Your Number’ and ‘Anzilli’) to great effect.
