Bleep

Really excellent debut EP from Kaleida, landing on the Lex imprint. Much like a lot of Lex’s catalogue, the Kaleida sound is one of youthful energy and off-centre production. On this EP, the vocals are rightly at the fore of the mix while the production triumphs through minimalist synth patterns and smoky downbeat drum sections. There is something thrillingly revivalist about the pop-inspired melodies on cuts like Take Me To The River and The Call. The release evokes as much Sade as it does Jamie Xx and that is by no means a criticism.
