EVEN THE CHIMERA, the debut work from Jay Glass Dubs’ new project Wild Terrier Orchestra, aims to be an open container. Across its two long-form tracks, the discordant sounds around artist Dimitris Papadatos’ residence in Cyprus drift in and out of frame like dust shining in front of a window. Papadatos’ orchestra is built on interchangeability and open improvisation, giving the project’s muse of a hedonistic utopia achieved after a “process of violent deconstruction” the looming ominous presence of Jóhann Jóhannsson's Last And First Men score.
