Label head Dust-e-1 kick starts a new imprint, Dust World, with its inaugural release of blue sky deep house in the Detroit tradition. But The Cosmic Dust EP has more than a few 4/4 bangers up its sleeve. There’s plenty of tasty vintage sounds here from the forward-facing producer, especially where the bass-laden atmospherics of ‘Open Sky’ and ‘Hypomania’ are concerned, whereas the mix opens up to accommodate reverb-laden abstraction with the heavenly vocal swagger of ‘C-Thru’ and ‘U and Me’.
