Aptly titled as an introduction to the musical world of Cindy, I’m Cindy sees producer Kai Hugo aka Palmbomen II helm a synth pop project of great mystery. But who exactly is Cindy? If this LP is anything to go by, she could be the missing link between Cocteau Twins, Slow Dive and the Pet Shop Boys. Tracks like ‘Never Let Me Go’ and ‘Cousin’s Birthday Party’ recall the finest of 1980s 808-driven pop music, with more than a little contemporary production flair.
