Not quite sure what, sonically, the distinction is between Hawtin's Plus 8 and Minus labels is these days but this is quite a tasty contribution from micro-house personality, Mike Shannon. Toning down those 'skippy' beats somewhat, 'Memory Seed EP' seems, altogether, a more accomplished production, adopting that West Coast house groove of JT Donaldson et al . Our favourite track being the deep, haunting, Larry Heard-esque house of 'The Love Fry'. Answering the conundrum right there, I think!
