Ghostly's (just about) pop group 'Skeletons...' come with a very different and strange everything but the kitchen sink approach to making pop songs, out of whatever is around as well as conventional guitars, electronics, vocals and some brass. From the minute the album starts, it's claps and stamps making the rhythms and looped African highlife style guitar creating the melodies. Naturally it gets stranger from there on in, with gamelan rhythms, and nightmarish electronic textures disrupting a fairly standard pop song oh except the charmingly odd lyrics, we're just at track two... It's rather brilliant this bottom up fashion of making music and Skeletons easy originality deserves to get noticed by serious music lovers, because you'll be upset that you missed it of you do.
