The Future Primitive EP is a collection of revivalist breakbeat techno from Zodiac Childs (and, on the title-track, collaborator Moy). Anyone who’s been enjoying the throwback rave sounds of labels like Sneaker Social Club should definitely get a load of Future Primitive. Rolling breaks and dubbed-out sub-bass are the order of the day here, with eerie pads and ghostly samples layered to provide atmosphere. The sparky programming on ‘Tears’ almost tips it into tech-house territory.
