Fort Romeau is one of the most dependable artists currently working in the house music field. Select one of Fort Romeau’s records at random and you’re pretty much guaranteed to be served up some gloriously melodious house that is crisp, well-produced and full of verve. All of this is true again on the producer’s new EP Dweller On The Threshold. The eponymous A-side is a nine-minute epic full of blooming synths. On the flip, ‘Kontra Punkte’ is more atonal and cautious, it’s off-centre arpeggio loop reminiscent of Jeff Mills.
