By the sound of things, Fumio Miyashita never necessarily intended to become a producer of such ambient bliss. After a highly influential career in Japan, having formed legendary prog rock outfits Far Out and Far East Family Band, Miyashita immigrated to the US in 1977 to pursue studies in oriental medicine. Eventually, his interests in musical therapy grew, and “Wave” Sounds Of The Universe came soon after his pioneering work in the field. It’s exactly what you want for an ambient record of healing music: longform drones and luscious synth tones.
