Previously only available as a download, Thunder Tillman’s Condor Sunflower EP now gets a vinyl pressing courtesy of the ESP Institute. Along with his ‘personal shaman’ Pontus, Stockholm native Tillman creates three pieces of idiosyncratic electronic pop here. Yelping voices, glacial harmonies, neo-folk instrumentation are all brought together in a slightly dubbed-out manner. The combination makes Condor Sunflower sound like a record out of time, a relic of the mid-2000’s phase when acts like Animal Collective and Bon Iver were at the top of their game.
