Throughout the early- and mid-2000’s we saw Sonic (Jasper Byrne) release many wedges of high-grade junglism alongside his pal Dean Fletcher in Sonic & Silver and Accidental Heroes. After disappearing for a while Sonic re-emerged as a video-game composer a few years ago, but new LP 110174 is his first drop for the dance in a fair while. Across this record Sonic shows that his d ‘n’ b skills remain fully functional - this is spacious breakbeat science that isn’t afraid to bring a little juke, footwork and ghettotech into play.
