Chris Spero and Alex Jones return as Dense & Pika with another drop following their ‘Project Zeus’ release. The duo present two original mixes, ‘Amber’, the first of which, is a dynamic club track, overflowing with a variety of sounds and punctuated with a breathy female vocal that arrives three minutes in. It’s easy to appreciate the level of production that’s gone into the track’s formation, expansive basslines and kick drums layered against a labyrinth of sounds and cowbells. The introduction of ‘Hard Light’ is heavy, positively thumping, complimented later by the arrival of short, sharp key bursts and lasers. The two certainly know what they’re doing and aren’t afraid of pushing themselves to the limit of what’s possible with regard to their music.
