Fold returns to Will Saul’s Aus Music with a new EP. The three originals of Aegean Sea claim Peacefrog Records as an influence, and the deep shuffling grooves of ‘Marimba Echoes’ and the eponymous cut would slot nicely into a Moodymann or Theo Parrish set. However, there is a propulsive energy to opener ‘Knobbly Bobbly’ that feels decidedly Aus. Aegean Sea rounds out with an acidic, broken-beat edit of ‘Marimba Echoes’ courtesy of Mall Grab.
