Given that it feels like Ame constantly have a new project on the go, it comes as a surprise to discover that Dream House is the duo’s first full-length of original material since 2004’s eponymous LP. Ame use the album format as a chance to expand their sound and switch up the tempo. Of course there are the sort of melodic techno tunes that have become their stock-in-trade, but excursions into Kosmische (‘Futuro Antico’), Thom Yorke-esque electronica (‘Give Me Your Ghost’) and near-industrial synthwave (the Gudrun Gut-featuring ‘Gerne’) give Dream House a great ebb and flo.
