The new album from Domenico Lancellotti has its origins way back in 2012. When the Brazilian artist came over to London as part of a cultural programme associated with the 2012 Olympic games, he got together with Sean O’Hagan (High Llamas, Stereolab). The pair soon arranged music for guitar and strings, sketches which were fleshed out by Lancellotti and friend Kassin upon returning to South America. Fast forward to 2018 and we have The Good Is A Big God, an album of lush tropicalia, chamber pop and soft funk all topped off by Lancellotti’s gentle, expressive voice. Out via Luaka Bop.
