Between 1978 and 1992 seminal post-punk to acid house label / experiment Factory Records released some historical records that featured startlingly original artwork, in this book Matthew Robertson has compiled a complete graphic album of the label from cutting edge covers (quite literally in the case of The Return of the Durutti Column) from Joy Division and New Order to the Hacienda. This brilliantly rich and varied book documents the label’s entire visual legacy. Following a foreword from Factory's, Tony Wilson, and an introduction that explores the label’s role in design, every item with one of the famous Factory inventory numbers is illustrated or listed, including album sleeves, singles, special editions, flyers, posters, stationery and architectural projects.
