Silva Screen repress Paul Giovanni and Magnet’s score from cult classic ‘The Wicker Man’ following the film's fortieth anniversary. Containing material from the film’s longer version, including the track ‘Gentle Johnny’, it is well worth revisiting the eerie psychedelic folk conjured up by the composer’s mixture of harmonicas, flutes, lyres and all manner of British musical paraphernalia. The soundtrack alone is capable of conjuring up the sense of eccentric dread for which the film is so revered, and as a standalone record, remains robust.
