Young Male and DJ Richard’s Brooklyn based label White Material drop a killer four track EP, doing away artist accreditations and simply attributing the release to White Material. A1’s “1 Does Not Know” contains a jumped-up jacking groove reminiscent of a Rene Pawlowitz production whilst “Problems” keeps the floor ticking along nicely. The flip pushes things further, exploring looped vocals on “Lost In Thaw” combined with an effective Sci-Fi feel. Closing the EP in a mellow mood is “Put On”, which layers seductive vocals over a silky-smooth deep house groove.
