Hotly tipped new Glasgow band Womensaid release their debut EP on local label Optimo. Sure, the record opens with a warbling synth drone and a slightly cheesy Vincent Price sample about magic and the likes but once the A1 gets going we’re almost navigating Coil territory until some sort of sleazy voodoo funk bassline kicks in and things switch up. There’s that classic high sheen Green Door studio production right across the EP. Features one half of previous Optimo band Organs of Love (the other is now in LAPS).
