Welcome to the Bleep Weekly Roundup, our guide to the best new releases.

Our album of the week is from Gilroy Mere exploring sun kissed Suffolk landscapes and the lost city of Dunwich resting in the deep, capturing the magic of the countryside with caramel guitar tones and lazy, sunbathing saxophones.

Our EP of the week is from drum & bass and jungle luminary Tim Reaper making his debut on Unknown To The Unknown with the third entry in their Cosmik Connection EP series. In keeping with the sci-fi theme throughout on the EP via Reaper’s production and sound design, we have reverberated electric piano runs that recall shooting stars and alien-like synth chords floating over astral amen breaks.

Elsewhere this week: Rescued from the vaults by Disciples, ESP Summer’s debut album explores psychedelic pop and folk palettes from His Name Is Alive members Warren Defever and Ian Masters. A dream collaboration from monumental artists in their own rights, Genesis P-Orridge and The Hafler Trio’s Dream Less Suite presents recalibrated and remastered recordings of material created over the years: “soundtracks to unfinished films, live performances and the real versions of tracks you know and love.” Lastly, RVNG Intl. have reissued Suzanne Ciani & Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith’s collaboration as an expanded edition now with all three long-form pieces of glacial-like drones and sombre meditation on blue vinyl.

This week’s pre-orders of note include: Ela Minus & DJ Python’s ♡ EP gets the Ricardo Villalobos remix treatment stretching the track durations to absolute breaking point and back again, available from us as an exclusive hand stamped edition limited to 100. Alva Noto builds sonic spaces ripe with emotion on his latest album Kinder Der Sonne, the soundtrack for Simon Stone’s 2021 theatre piece Komplizen. Finally, Warrington-Runcorn New Town Development Plan return to Castles In Space with their fourth album of retro-futurism exploring this time the UK’s north-south divide.

Our Bleep Mix this week is an eclectic selection from Kassem Mosse in celebration of his recent album on Workshop: “My approach was to arrange tracks that have a strong electronic feel & sound (to me at least) into a mixtape-like flow that goes through different intensities, moods and timbres”.

Enjoy!
