Following on from releases on the likes of OFF Recordings and Transmat, Karim Sahraoui debuts on R&S with this groovy EP. Plenitude features three deep house dubs that also incorporate elements of minimal techno, cosmic disco and tech-house. Opener ‘Spy Of The Desert’ is the most rugged of the three, skipping along on a Villalobos-esque groove that’s augmented by a spooky synth lead line. ‘Born Again’ looks like it could develop into a similarly hard-nosed roller before making a left-turn into the sort of jazzy house flex one associates more with labels like Eglo and Rhythm Section. Closer ‘Before The 2nd Coming’ is an emotive near-ten-minute opus with shades of Dixon and Ame to it.
