Amsterdam head Darling returns to Young Marco’s Safe Trip for a blissful two-track. Anyone who enjoyed Darling’s 2017 EP JPS, or Safe Trip’s excellent Italo-House compilations, will be most pleased with these entries. ‘When She Hates Me’ and ‘Isle Of Red’ are delightful sunset rollers, bringing together influences from Balearic House, Italo-Disco and the American Midwest to dreamy effect. ‘When She Hates Me’ crests along on an undulating synth motif, spiralling keyboard chords and a gently shuffling drum groove. ‘Isle Of Red’ notches up the tempo and incorporates a nice plinky-plonky xylophone lead line. Music From Memory and Second Circle fans take note.
