In their own ways, Jan Jelinek and Computer Soup went about exploring the outer limits of electronic composition throughout the 90s. While the former was pretty much single-handedly creating micro-house, the Tokyo trio were combining far-out electronic composition with elements of free jazz to create a brave new sound. In 2001 the four of them got together for an evening of improvisation, the result of which was this LP. Jelinek’s disposition towards looping jazz sounds acts as the glue which holds together the rampant experimentalism of the Japanese group. The resulting record, reissued on vinyl for the first time here, nods to groups like Oval and Conjoint.
