L-Vis 1990 made a welcome return to the fray in 2017 with his bouncy, exuberant mixtape 12 Thousand Nights. Though plenty of that record was primed for club deployment, it felt like only a matter of time before a remix album surfaced. 12 Thousand Nights - Club fronts a few versions from the producer himself as well as reworkings by Leonce, UNiiQU3, Neana and more. The malleable base materials of the original LP allow themselves to be bent into plenty of new forms. Garage takes sit alongside fierce Jersey Club traxx, Afrobeats meet UK Funky, FDM collides with future r ‘n’ b. The variation makes this the rarest of remix albums - one that works as a cohesive whole, yet will also provide DJs from all subcultures with standouts for their next mix.
