It’s been a busy 2018 for Ekman so far. In January he dropped a new EP via The Trilogy Tapes, February saw Shipwrec put out his sophomore LP, and March has him returning to Bedouin Records (Hieroglyphic Being, Merzbow) for a new four-track. For many artists such a quick string of releases might bring about a drop in quality, but when you’re Ekman you’re able to conjure up awesome, brooding techno at the drop of a hat. Tangent is a grungy release that will appeal to those who’ve enjoyed recent outings by Power Vacuum and Opal Tapes - ‘Fold’, in particular, is a visceral assault.
