Will Long’s follow up to Long Trax sees the producer sticking with the deep house aesthetic that served him so well on that LP. Long Trax 2 is a record that takes its time - every cut here is around or over the ten-minute mark - and selects its materials carefully. Detroit-style jazz chords undulate atop minimal drum tracking, with the odd vocal sample drifting in and out of the mix for variation. It’s hardly a revolutionary approach, but Long’s production is warm and crisp in a way that lets you luxuriate in these grooves. Out via the always reliable Smalltown Supersound.
