This one’s been coming since 2015. Back then, MF Doom popped up with a barnstorming feature on Czarface’s excellent LP Every Hero Needs A Villain. Three years down the line and two have teamed up for a full-length. A line-up consisting of Doom, Inspectah Deck, 7L and Esoteric was always going to bring some heat. What’s impressive about Czarface Meets Metal Face is how the quartet manage to keep the fire lit across sixteen tracks. The no-BS revivalism of Czarface is made a little lighter by the cartoonish, painterly style of Doom. Open Mike Eagle and Vinnie Paz show up for guest spots.
