Bristol’s Idle Hands (Shanti Celeste, Kowton) near fifty releases with this drop. Like many of their previous 48 records, Draw Your Pattern comes from a former dubstepper venturing into techno with exciting results. Dan HabarNam maintains the weighty atmospherics of his drops on Exit and his own Selectie imprint while bringing in tempos and rhythms that draw more from central European techno labels like Ostgut Ton. ‘High Pass Rambo’, with its booming kicks and gnarly bassline, has plenty in common with recent drops by Timedance and Bastakiya Tapes. On the flip, the eponymous track weds tense minor-key synth stabs to a rumbling two-step.
