Rocket Recordings (Goat, Flowers Must Die) release the debut LP from the much-discussed Bonnacons Of Doom. The secretive Liverpudlian group - which has included members of Jarvis Cocker’s band, Mugstar and Youthmovies down the years - have managed to capture the thrill of their live show very well on this self-titled record. They tear through these five lengthy tracks with serious intent, creating an energetic racket in the process. Their combination of Krautrock, acid-rock and noise rock recalls early Hookworms as well as fellow Rocket act Gnod. Fittingly enough, Hookworms singer MJ recorded this one at his Suburban Home studio where he has also taped records for the likes of Drenge and Cowtown.
