Madrid’s Semantica Records (Instra:mental, Mikkel Metal) repress Plant43’s 2012 EP Dreams Of The Sentient City. With the subsequent resurgence of electro due in part to emergent labels like Super Rhythm Trax and Central Processing Unit - the latter of which has hosted a couple of Plant43 releases - the timing feels right for this one to double-drop. ‘Neon’ and ‘Metamaterial Cloaking’ are both quicksilver bleep ‘n’ bass odysseys that balance busy 808s with spacey pads and little nuggets of melody. Meanwhile ‘Stellar Nursery’ has an almost Italo-House flavour, while closing entry ‘Fluid Reasoning’ uses the same palette of sounds to whip up a dark techno trip.
