Ellen Allien drops the third EP of remixes from her celebrated 2017 LP Nost via her own BPitch Control. The previous releases in the RMXS series featured high-grade weaponry from the likes of Gerd Janson and Truncate, and the four producers who step up to the plate here all ensure they are on top form so as not to let the side down. Alan Oldham and Amotik go for the jugular - both of their entries are remorselessly hard techno tunes of the type that Allien herself is well-known for. XDB’s version of ‘Call Me’, still great dancefloor fodder and featuring a nice jacked groove, is a little less rough round the edges. Meanwhile Eomac keeps the spooky vibe of ‘Mind Journey’ while swapping out the minimal groove for something more abstract.
