James Ruskin and Mark Broom revisit the combat dance of their Skam album Refuge of a Twisted Soul to slice up four live versions of the albums most jacked up trax, arriving here finely tuned for the after-future dancefloors of 2018.

Crafted in preparation for a series of forthcoming The Fear Ratio live shows, this four-track 12" draws upon the live experience to punish the listener with a more visceral force than the albums more hip-hop material of the original versions. ‘GBA’, initially a curious piece of swung electronica, is now rendered as a shuffling, sharp draw techno banger. The soundsystem ragga of ‘ERA’ is stretched and bent into even stranger shapes in a way that recalls the most twisted corners of Skam's discography to date. ‘INTL Test Mix’ is a short, punchy track that obliquely references old Eski riddims (a trend very common these days, but done here with an intensity most can't even begin to imagine being able to program, yet own) whilst ‘ONEFIVEOOOOH Live’ is a skittery jam that threatens to morph at any moment from twisted hip-hop to footwork.

Each track stays true to its source material yet goes deeper into the militant stomp of both Ruskin and Broom's respective roles defining the Blueprint of modern techno.
