Some pure Eski silliness from Rebore Kid here. In a funny sort of way, the four tracks of Rebore bear a strong resemblance to the ultra-precise industrialism that characterised Oleka’s recent Ostentiferous EP. That said, while Ostentiferous ran at techno tempos, RK does everything at 140 bpm. Every track here features riddims that seem to have been constructed with a spirit level, so neat is the drum tracking. There’s not much in the way of melody on these tracks, but RK’s brutal administration of gunshots, explosion and homing missile sounds are potent enough on their own. Will appeal to anyone who enjoyed the BOXED004 release on which RK last outed.
