The noise/free improve legend Keiji Haino continues his never ending path of globe-spanning collaborations with a new LP for Thrill Jockey. On American Dollar Bill we see Haino joining forces with the young experimental group SUMAC for five long-form recordings that are bound to put listeners to the test. The record kicks off with some eerie guitar tones and disparate percussion before we’re thrown into the deep end of full-on noise assault with the second track ‘What Have I Done’. There’s a great balance of textured, almost meditative avant-garde sections and insane ear-splitting cacophonies. Just what you’d expect from Haino, really.
