Young Amsterdam producer hooks up with Mark Van de Maat and drops five new tracks for his Knekelhuis imprint. There’s evidently a strong community in the city, and Sifre’s last EP for fellow Amsterdam dweller Interstellar Funk was cited as being the soundtrack to last year’s Dekmantel festival, but this new work is even stronger than we expected. The guy has clearly found his sound – an odd mixture that’s indebted to Euro-wave and post-punk more than classic house or techno but its powerful effect on the dance floor is undeniable. We look forward to more. Shout out to Mark!
